Hi! My name is Brynn Petrik, a student at UNR studying psychology. My career goal is to be a therapist and own my own practice, so I have made Business Administration my minor. Having the opportunity to pursue my education even further has been such a gift in order to expand my knowledge even outside of my major and minor.
I am from Reno, Nevada and enjoy activities that the Reno Tahoe area has to offer. One of the activities I love the most is snowboarding. My passion for snowboarding has translated to my job at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe into a snowboard instructor as well as helping manage a multi-week kids ski/snowboard program with a number of wonderful people at Mt. Rose.
Along with snowboarding I love going to see live music in Reno. Going out and listening to live music is a great way to support local artists and talk to others who share a similar interests. Supporting local venues especially is a great way to keep the money you are spending local going to help others within our community.
My best friend Mikayla is one of my favorite people who is such a kind person who pushes me to be
better. Mikayla and I go on sporadic road trips and adventures in and out of the Reno area. We love a last-minute late-night treat or even visiting her brother in Oregon for the weekend. 
Being outside to me is so important. Hiking and paddleboarding are great ways for me to spend my time and get my energy out in the summer when I can’t be on my snowboard. I enjoy solitary sports in which I can do with or without others. Having the independence to go outside and take a breath of fresh air has been so beneficial for my mental health.
