Online Banking Scams!

A few months ago, I got a text message that looked like it was from my bank warning me about strange activity and asking me to confirm it right away. The message looked real because it had official branding and a layout that was similar to my bank’s statements, but its real goal was to steal my login information. This kind of phishing scam makes people scared and makes them act quickly without thinking. The message had a link to a fake website that looked a lot like the bank’s real login page. The attacker would be able to see any information that was entered there.

A random phone number as the sender, a generic greeting that didn’t include my name, small typos, and a link that didn’t match the bank’s official domain were all signs that the email was a scam. To avoid falling for scams like this, don’t click on links in urgent messages. Instead, verify the sender and go directly to official websites. Scammers depend on quick reactions instead of careful thinking, so taking a moment to stop and double-check can make a big difference.

  1. I get random phone calls all the time. This is very helpful thank you so much

  2. I once got an email that looked like it was from our CEO and asked me to text him and gave me a number. I texted in the number and then he asked me to send him Apple gift cards, which was very suspicious! Upon reviewing the email, the sender’s name was the name of our CEO, but the email that it was sent from was not his email. Just wanted to share the tip on checking email addresses, a similar phishing tactic!
